Kirrie

Kirrie
D.O.B – 21st April 2008
Breed: Border Collie
Colour: Lilac Merle
Favourite Treats: Thrive ProTrain
Favourite Pastime: Playing
Favourite Toys: Latex Wibble Monste & Air Kong Squeaky Tennis Balls

Kirrie is the newest member of the Puddle Pet Care product testing team. Kirrie came to us at 9 weeks old from Corrie Dhu Border Collies. We had admired Laura’s dogs for a long time, since getting to know Laura on a dog forum and had dreamt one day of having one of her puppies. In June 2008 we were lucky enough to travel to Scotland to collect Kirrie.

It had been 10 years since we had a puppy and had completely forgotten just how much they take over your lives (and hearts!). She is truly a stunning girl.

Kirrie is currently doing very well with Clicker Training and is about to go up to the top class where she will be doing some Heelwork to Music and Rally-O

Splash

SPLASH
D.O.B – 1st April 1997
Breed: Border Collie
Colour: Tri
Favourite Treat: Tripe Sticks
Favourite Pastime: Sleeping & looking after his Harem!
Favourite Toys: Supersoft Fleece Ball & Mooing Cow

Splash was our first dog and came to us at a year old from Battersea Dogs Home where he had been for nearly 4 months as he had a bad case of Kennel Cough and was quite poorly for sometime.

Splash is the only male in the dog family and loves the attention of the girls. He has a look that everyone falls in love with and the most expressive eyes, mainly due to the 2 tan “splashes”.

Gem

GEM
D.O.B. 1st June 1998
Breed: Border Collie
Colour: Tri Colour (but mainly white & black)
Favourite Treat: Pro-Reward Liver Treats
Favourite Pastime: Making sure everyone else is behaving and being centre of attention!
Favourite Toys: Piglet Pal & Flying Squirrel

Gem came to us at 3 months old from a rescue centre having been handed in as a male with her “brother” – who was actually her sister. Gem’s name came from the fact that we thought she was a “little Gem” (and no not the variety of lettuce!) combined with a corruption of Jemima Puddle-Duck as we wanted something that linked in the Splash. Whilst responding to her name of Gem she also responds equally as well to nick name of Puddle (and she did plenty of these as a puppy) hence the buiness name Puddle Pet Care.

Gem over the last couple of years has had a number of health problems, including a fibrosarcoma which involved having the lower left side of her jaw removed – which she coped with remarkably and causes her no problems at all except that her tongue “lolls” out at times. 3 months later she had a mast cell tumour removed from her side and more recently has had her spleen removed and currently has unexplained blood in her urine – but through all of this she has been a real trouper and recovered well and quickly from all her problems – though she is a bit of a worry!

Gem is a lovely dog – if a little “vocal” at times – who really does like to live life to the full and lives on 2 speeds – full out or stop!

Sally

SALLY
D.O.B. 22nd November 1995 (this is only a guestimate!)
Breed: Border Collie
Colour: Black & White
Favourite Treat: Natures Menu Chicken Treatsb>
Favourite Pastime: Looking after Kirrie
Favourite Toys: Pyramid & Fluffy Bear

Sally came to us as a bit of a unknown. We met her at our local vets on a day where we had birth (a foster cat we were caring for had kittens) , death (sadly we lost one of our rabbits that day) & adoption – Sally. She was being cared for by a couple who lived locally to us who had found her as a stray and was due to go into rescue the next day – ironically the same rescue that we were fostering for. We introduced Sally to Splash & Gem that evening and Sally came to live with us.

We think that Sally was around 3 or 4 when she came to us but do not know for sure. We think that she did not have the best of starts in life and still shakes when you go to brush her. She has a lovely friendly temperament and took to Kirrie the minute she arrived home and took the role of being “Aunt Sally” very seriously.

Sally is a beautiful gentle dog with a smile that can melt hearts.
